What are the rings made from?
Vintage silverware: old spoons and forks. Greg bends each handle by hand into a ring. No new metal and no molds.
Is it real silver?
The rings are made from vintage silverplate flatware. Silverplate is a layer of silver over a base metal, which is how most everyday silverware was made. They are not sterling.
Is every ring really one of a kind?
Yes. Each ring comes from a single piece of silverware, so there is exactly one like it. When a ring sells, it comes off the site.
What is a spoon ring?
A ring made by bending the handle of a spoon around into a band, so the pattern from the handle wraps your finger. We make fork rings the same way.
Who makes them?
Greg, in Indiana, one at a time. You can read more on the About Greg page.
What sizes can I get?
US sizes 5 to 13, including half sizes. You type your size when you order and Greg bends the ring to it.
How do I find my ring size?
Wrap a strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark where it overlaps, measure it in millimeters and compare it to the chart on our Sizing Guide page. Or send us a message and we'll help.
What if it doesn't fit?
Spoon rings have a little give, so they can be gently opened or closed a hair for a better fit. If it still isn't right, tell us within 14 days of receiving it and we'll refund you in full.
How much are the rings?
$16 each. The Three Ring Grab Bag is three rings in your size, Greg's pick of patterns, for $34.99.
How fast do you ship?
We ship within 3 days of your order. If we can't, or can't make the ring in your size, we refund you in full.
How much is shipping? Do you ship outside the US?
Shipping is a flat $4.99 per order. Right now we ship within the United States only.
What is your return policy?
If your ring isn't right, let us know within 14 days of receiving it and we'll refund you in full. Send us a message through the Contact page or email benderringcompany@gmail.com.
How can I pay?
Credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal.
How do I take care of my ring?
Wipe it with a soft cloth after wearing and polish it now and then with a polishing cloth. Take it off before swimming, hot tubs or harsh cleaners. A little patina down in the pattern is part of the charm.
Will it tarnish?
Silverplate darkens over time, the same way old silverware does in a drawer. A polishing cloth brings the shine back.
Can you make a ring from my own family silverware?
Yes. Send us a message through the Contact page, choose "Custom ring request" and tell us what you have. We'll get back to you with the details.
Can I see the rings in person?
Yes. Eight shops carry them. In Fort Wayne, Indiana: Fae's Cabinet, Delaney's@1421 Broadway, Indy Smoke Time (Maysville Rd, Coldwater Rd and Coliseum Blvd), Vegas Smoke Time and Well Made & More. In Coldwater, Michigan: Havana Palace. Addresses and a map are on the Find Us in Stores page. The shops have the sizes that are in the tray; online, every ring is bent to your size.
